Drum sets can be found inexpensively, and complete, on Craigslist or Facebook\u2014 usually $250 to $500. Any set that has all the parts below, that appears to be reasonably in good shape, will do. Avoid obviously filthy, battered looking drums with dented heads. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
If you have noise restrictions where you practice, an electronic set is a good option, though in general I don’t prefer them. Find a well maintained used set in your price range\u2014 with all parts and manual. Don’t worry too much about features, you just need something to hit that sounds kind of like a drum through the headphones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
