The tempo of the quarter note pulse should be bright:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-5Fbu5eiUEU8\/UFcn_g3ThcI\/AAAAAAAABt0\/DjBt8ruD-_U\/s1600\/Finale+2008+-+%5Bhalf-time-feel-with-syncopation%5D.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pdxdrummer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Finale-2008-half-time-feel-with-syncopation.jpg\" width=\"247\" height=\"320\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Many of the resulting beats will be useful as conditioners and for gaining familiarity with the feel as anything else; some of them have very dense bass drum parts, and this has a much lower percentage of ordinarily usable beats than the <a href=\"http:\/\/shipdrummer.blogspot.com\/2011\/03\/todds-methods-pt-3-rock-beats-with.html\">regular rock piece<\/a> did. You&#8217;ll have to play a lot of exercises and find the ones that work for you musically.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pdxdrummer.com\/downloads\/lessons_downloads\/drumset\/pdxdrummer.com_half-time-feel-rock-w-syncopation.pdf\">Get the pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an example of a half time feel on a pop song we played on my 2009 and 2010 Europe tours, Serge Gainsbourg&#8217;s Je Suis Venu Te Dire Que Je M&#8217;en Vais (roughly \u201cI came to tell you I&#8217;m going\u201d).
